IS IT FEBURARY AGAIN?

!Hola¡ I hope you all had a great week cause for me, it kind of felt like February otra vez. Why?  Well no one was in there houses this week, basically, no one. So, in terms of numbers this week they were low, but our energy is high. I’m learning a lot and I think that is what is super important I can start to see the things the lord is teaching me. I’m learning about trusting in the lord and working so that he can trust in me. That is an interesting concept of the lord, trusting in us. I have seen that where we can have his trust and where we can loose it. Like any person, it takes time to get it back. He will give us a little test to see if we are trust worthy or not. In the mission, he might have someone sit next to us on the bus and see if we will contact that person or not can he trust us to do that? In life, if we pray for missionary experiences but then let the chances to share the gospel go by-- can he trust us? These are his children and he trusts us that we will get the gospel to them.  Are we up to following that trust? That has been on my mind a lot lately.

Things in the mission are going good. My comp, Elder Zapata, is progressing great. Everyday I see more and more his potential and his ability and love for the work. We are working hard to retain all the new people that we have found and we are starting to find success. The ward is great down here and is really starting to develop the desire to work and we as missionaries are trying to keep that going.

Well, as we hopefully start to see some good progress from the people. I will let you know about it.  I know for sure the lord is preparing some people here and it’s just a matter of us finding them.

Have a great week

p.s. Also I went on divisions this week and found elder Romney.  Turns out he has family back in LaVerkin!  So if any of you from LaVerkin know the Romney family, I am serving with Jonathan Romney.  I think that is how it is just a cool fact.

UP AND DOWN WEEK

This week over all was really good. We had a lot of great stuff happen. First off, we are finding a lot of new people to teach- which is great! We found, recently, a less active member named Manuel and he is a great guy. He has such great desires to come back to church but is very shy and timid person. We are going to help by being by his side the whole way. Also, he has a sister and friend who are not members that love to listen as we come and talk with him.

We also found a lot of other new families. There is one, his name is Sergio, we have passed by his house countless times. He would always say to us to come back another day.  Well, he finally let us in and we were able to talk with him and share about the restoration and the Book of Mormon.

Honestly, the hardest part of this week is when we get in and teach what we think is a great first lesson and give them a Book of Mormon. They say they will read and pray and then we set another appointment with them. And we go the second time and they are not there. That’s a bit hard.  But what they don’t know, is that I am willing to be as stubborn as them. So we just keep passing by again and again and again until someone is there or lets us in.

It’s been really a good week with ups and downs- but that is life. It is never a reason to give up we just got to keep trying and trying. I have seen it this week. If we keep trying and trying, sooner or later the lord is going to open the door for us. Have a great week and keep on going strong.

A BETTER WEEK

¡Hola! como están. espero que ustedes tuvieron un semana lleno de gozo. Well the Spanish is progressing! I can speak better and thanks to Google, that is all spelt right. This week was a good week, it’s true. We were blessed to find some new people who are willing to listen to the message and we were able to teach and see and feel the spirit testify to these people. We are hoping that this week as we begin to meet with them more and more, we will see them start to change their life and come closer to Christ. Sadly, I’m a bit short on time but, there is something I would love to talk about and that is the lord is hastening his work.

We had this week stake conference for our stake and it was all about missionary work.  The lord is hastening his work, but what really leads me to talk about this, is that this week my inbox was so full of missionary stuff.  Calls and letters from other elders -that sort of stuff. The lord is hastening his work, I know it, and I can feel it. The time has come to break down the barriers in between the missionaries and the members. The lord is preparing great things for us; we just need to take them. If we stand together as missionaries and members, we can change the world. My invite to you all is to get out and get to know the missionaries in your area, talk to them learn their names, be their friend, they are doing a great work and need you.

I hope you all have a great week and that we can keep this great work moving forward

6 MONTHS

Well this week I hit the six month point and its honestly only felt like a few days that I have been gone. This week was a pretty good one. We had the opportunity this week to do a family home evening as a ward and it went really good. It is actually one of the first ward activities that they have had in a long time. I was worried, at first, cause not a lot of people were showing up to it but by the time we got going we had a lot of people there. They all loved it and it is really sending some life into our ward.

We have a new Elder’s Quorum president and he is really stepping things up. He has a great desire to go out and work and improve the ward--partly because he was a missionary in this same area about 6 years ago. So, that is going really good. It’s amazing to see the ward start to step and want to work. Honestly, the work is so much harder without the ward’s help.

In terms of our investigators, this was a really hard week for them. A lot of people couldn`t meet with us and we spent a lot of time trying to find new investigators. We are doing a lot of work trying our best to find new people to teach.

This week I have thought a lot about trails and why we have them. Why we have hard days? Hard weeks? Hard months? Its simply cause the lord wants us to grow and if things were easy we would never grow its in those moments of pain and trial that we become closer to the lord. It’s when all other sources leave us and we have only him. That is when we learn trust, love and faith. Never turn your back on the lord when the waters get rough hunker down and keep on working. Don’t give in and don’t slacken your hand.

I hope you all have a great week
te quiero mucho

A NEW COMP A NEW WEEK

¡Hola! it’s been a good week this week. I’m with my new comp now and I am loving things. He is great. He is 19 and full of the spirit. He is not afraid to put himself out there ether, to go out and work. I’m loving being with him and working with him.

In terms of our investigators, they are doing pretty good. Just this week one of our strongest moved out of our sector over to another. It was sad. She is still in the mission, though, so we are getting missionaries over to her as soon as we can. As for Juan, we had trouble meeting with him this week so we are hoping things will pick up with him.

Other than that, we are still in the process of trying to find and teach new people. School is just starting up for all the kids here, so we are hoping that we can start to find more people now.

This week has been a good one. I can feel the hand of the lord this week and it came in an interesting way. So Monday and Tuesday before, I went and picked up my new comp. I was with Elder Woodis. And as I spent the day with him, it was terrible. I couldn’t speak Spanish or seem to teach with any kind of clarity and it had me really worried. So Tuesday, in the morning, I read a lot in D&C and I really felt it speaking to me words of comfort and love. Especially the phrase ¨ no dudarías ni temías´´ or in other words, doubt not fear not. So that’s what I choose to do. Not fear and not give up and I feel the lord filling in what I lack. I know that same strength is for everyone. Doubt not fear not and the lord will provide
