Hola! So this week was a long one. It feels short
now that it’s over, but everyday was a long one.
With it still being February, everyone is out
on vacations. This week, more than any, we spent in the streets trying to find
people to teach and it give some fruit. First of all, our investigator Sabina,
came back from her almost 20 day vacations. It felt like she was gone forever! Me and my comp were really afraid that we were
going to have problems and start back all over from step one. To our surprise,
she had spent the whole vacation thinking about her baptism. She remembered and did all the commitments we
had left her with 20 days ago. Now, she is getting ready to get married and
that her partner can take the missionary lessons. It was amazing.
Also this week, we found Juan. He is a new one we found knocking doors. First,
when we met him he was half drunk so we didn’t think much of it. We set another
appointment to come back and when we went back we where surprised to find him
sober and he let us in. We find out that he is living with his partner (not
married) but oh does he love her. She has been bed ridden for a year now. She can’t
walk or stand but he has been with her all this time and has never given up on
her. Me and my comp were super surprised by how loving this man is. We gave him
the first lesson and set a baptism date with him right then- which he accepted.
I’m so excited to work with him.
I do have a bit of sad news this
week. Today was changes and sadly my comp Elder Dufour has left me. He has
moved on to another sector after only one change together. Never have I gotten
to know a man so fast. He is one of my greatest friends now and it was hard to
see him go. On the bright side, I am getting a new comp. I haven’t gotten
him yet, I get him tomorrow. I’m excited to meet him. I have been called as a
trainer so I am looking forward to help and learning from him as I teach.
I hope you have a great week and
keep an eye out for those around you. There are many people who will need your
smile your help and strength. Share what the lord has given you.
