A LONG WEEK

Hola!  So this week was a long one. It feels short now that it’s over, but everyday was a long one.

With it still being February, everyone is out on vacations. This week, more than any, we spent in the streets trying to find people to teach and it give some fruit. First of all, our investigator Sabina, came back from her almost 20 day vacations. It felt like she was gone forever!  Me and my comp were really afraid that we were going to have problems and start back all over from step one. To our surprise, she had spent the whole vacation thinking about her baptism.  She remembered and did all the commitments we had left her with 20 days ago. Now, she is getting ready to get married and that her partner can take the missionary lessons. It was amazing.

Also this week, we found Juan.  He is a new one we found knocking doors. First, when we met him he was half drunk so we didn’t think much of it. We set another appointment to come back and when we went back we where surprised to find him sober and he let us in. We find out that he is living with his partner (not married) but oh does he love her. She has been bed ridden for a year now. She can’t walk or stand but he has been with her all this time and has never given up on her. Me and my comp were super surprised by how loving this man is. We gave him the first lesson and set a baptism date with him right then- which he accepted. I’m so excited to work with him.

I do have a bit of sad news this week. Today was changes and sadly my comp Elder Dufour has left me. He has moved on to another sector after only one change together. Never have I gotten to know a man so fast. He is one of my greatest friends now and it was hard to see him go. On the bright side, I am getting a new comp.  I haven’t gotten him yet, I get him tomorrow. I’m excited to meet him. I have been called as a trainer so I am looking forward to help and learning from him as I teach.

I hope you have a great week and keep an eye out for those around you. There are many people who will need your smile your help and strength. Share what the lord has given you.

A LONG BUT GOOD WEEK

¡Hola! so this week was another long one with good days and bad days. The week started off pretty bad, spending a lot of time in the streets and not getting to talk to a whole lot of people –more than just in the door. Then middle of the week we did divisions with some other elders and that day was amazing! Everyone was letting us in. We got 4 new investigators that day and were able to meet Pamela too. It was a great day but then the days kinda went south agian. Teaching very little, and spending a lot of time out in the streets. Luckily, we were able to have an amazing family home evening with a Hermana. She brought to it all her kids (which are all inactive in the church) and a friend from next door who is not a member. It was a great family home evening, the spirit was super strong. Over all, though, it felt like a bad week. me and my comp took some time yesterday to talk about it and we founds some ways that we can improve. Then that night, we looked at our week overall and where surprised to find that this week was the same as last week, almost a bit better then the last. To me it showed that as long as we keep on trying, and we keep on working, the lord will put people in our path. Or, for the least give a the blessing to know that he is happy with us.
Keep the faith and keep working hard though all the problems.
yo se que no importa las problemas dios va a ayudar todo nosotros si permanecer fiel en la fe.
Have a great week

ANOTHER WEEK IN FEBURARY

¡Hola! ¿como estan? espero que ustedes tuvieron una semana buena. im hoping thats right :) this week was a good week. February is just a super hard month, that’s all there is to it. Even with it being a hard month the lord has blessed us greatly. This week we had the opportunity to baptize Pamela. She is a great person and was kinda a gift baptism for me when i got to the sector. It was super spiritual and super amazing. Her family and friends came and it was her birthday. Best gift ever i think yes. Other than that it’s been a normal week we have had a lot of time in the streets doing contacts looking for people to teach. we have had some fruit and it has been great. I’m hoping they all start progressing and wanting more and as they progress i will talk about them here.
One of them is Roberto and his wife. I don’t know if I have talked about them before but they are great. They are Evanjelico ( i don’t honestly know what that is in English) but they are will to listen we talked about the plan of salvation. Roberto has cancer and is close to dying.  it’s sad but we are hoping the lord blesses him to stay with us for just a bit longer.
Also, today we got the chance to go to Santa Losia which is an old fort in down town Santiago. its super cool. I will send some photos from the trip.
Other than that is has been a normal week. This change is just flying by so fast, I’m kinda hoping it slows down. Me and my comp are doing great he is super awesome.
I hope you all have a great week back at home.  Hey why not this week do something a bit extra for a missionary near you. Go on visits with them give them, a reference, help them out a bit :) Trust me they will love you for it.

HONESTLY A SLOW WEEK

¡Hola! So, this week was a bit of a harder on, very slow for our sector. So, the thing about it is that during February, it’s been said, that all of Santiago leaves and goes on vacations. So our investigator pool shrunk a lot this week. Both Edit, Sabina, and more, were all out for this week and probably the next. On the bright side, we did get to meet with Pamela and everything is set. Her baptism will be this week on the seventh, and I’m way excited. She is awesome. This is kinda like a free gift baptism. I got to the sector and she was ready to go. I’m still super excited to see her progress.

Other than that, we have had some people that will talk with us. Just recently, Rodrigo and his wife, are starting to progress- which is awesome. They are an older couple (Both in there 80s.) We gave them a pamphlet on the restoration and the husband read though it 2 and asked some questions. We gave them a Book of Mormon yesterday with a challenge to read it and I’m hoping they do. The sad part is that the doctors say Rodrigo only has 2 months to live. His wife is having troubles because of that and we are hoping we can bring them some comfort.

Other then that, this week has been a lot of contacting ALOT. Its interesting to do contacts and meet so many different people with such different perspectives. Also, you learn a lot about patience and how to love the people. We all need to love more- even if the people are mean to us and try to tear us down. If we respond with tearing down, nothing good comes. We must be as the Savior and turn the other check.  Love those who curse and bless those that do us harm.

This church is true. I know it with all my heart and if we endure with love, the Lord will bless us with miracles. He is doing it for me and will do it for you too.
