¡Hola! ¿como están? ha subido el
calor caleta esta semana pero con la subida del calor también con el progreso
de las personas.
this week has been a great
week it has got so much hotter this week I’m not a fan but as the heat has gone
up the progress in the ward has too. There are a lot of people doing super good
but for now I would like to focus in 3 of them.
1 Jonny he is the husband of Yeny an
active member from Columbia. He has been visiting with us for a while now- 3 or
so weeks. We were not quite sure how he was feeling about what we have been
teaching he seems receptive but we decided to go and find out for sure. So we
go in and we show the restoration video and we invite him to be baptized and he
says he would once he got his answer about the Book of Mormon. So we left them
with the commitment to read and they are doing it as a family. It’s amazing. He
is a bit cold about baptism still but I am sure he will warm up as he starts
praying. He loves his family so much and we are hoping that if we can get him
to see the goal not as baptism but as eternal families he will progress a lot
more. Just today we helped them clean out there rain gutters it was great.
2 Magarita we found here in the park
and lives with her daughter and son in law. The son in law is a member less
active since he was 14 and is not super receptive. Margarita however, has some
member friends that live outside the mission and every weekend she goes over
there to work for them and they have been inviting her to activities. She has
gone to a baptism before and knows a lot about the church. We just had our
second lesson with her and it was amazing. We had a member come with us (Hermano
Ernesto) and he bore such a powerful testimony that when we invited her to be baptized-
she said yes without hesitation. It’s so amazing the power the members can
have. They have brought her to the gospel and for them she is so open its
amazing the power the members have. I hope all who read this will now what a
powerful part the members play in conversion. Margarita let us in her door
because of members and accepted the baptismal invite because of the members. When
she is baptized it will be thanks to the members. She is a great example.
3 Juan Lorca, he is a less active whose
brother lives in the ward next to ours and the elders sent us over to try and
teach him. We went him talked to him his wife and their 2 daughters. They are
an amazing family. Juan has been less active for a while and has forgotten a
lot about the church. His wife was raised Evangelical but is not active in the
church. She was a bit cold at first but as we went on explaining the plan of
salvation, she opened up. It was so awesome I have a feeling that that family
is also going to progress a lot.
I hope you are all having a great
week and that you feel the lords love and care for us. It amazes me sometimes
here walking in downtown Santiago sometimes it hits me how many people there
are and I wonder how can he really know us all? There are so many-- does he
know me? Then, I feel the peace that assures me he knows of me and my situation
and each one of us.
I hope you all enjoy your week
