A QUICK WEEK

¡Hola! Hey so sorry for not writing last week, the time just flew by during the internet time. Actually this whole week has been flying by. Well, there is much to tell to start. This week we went to the temple with Wadimir (he got baptized my second week here) we went with him to go and do baptisms for the dead and it was a great experience. He loved being inside and really felt the spirit strong. We all did, it was great. He has got his face set at the temple and sealing himself one day with his wife. Which is a great goal. Also this week we were walking down the street one day and as we passed by a park we found Octavio and his family there so we talked with him for a while. He talked about how he has felt the spirit really has been working with him leading him to want to better his life to change the way he is doing things. He says he wants to set goals and wants to start from zero he wants to leave it all behind. I felt what it talks about in the scriptures about the joy in the heavens over the one sinner that repents. I felt so happy to see him with the desire to change his life. He wants to start over from zero and set his face to the temple and one day seal himself to his wife. I felt so happy to hear that and I know he can do it I know it.

This week sadly Hermano Amigo has been having a lot of problems with acholo we have tried to visit him a few times but every time he has been out drinking. It’s so sad to see his progress get so halted by it. It just goes to show that when we choose to come closer to god and make the corrections we need in our lives Satan begins to attack harder. If you in your life are trying to do things better and come closer to the lord and then suddenly things get a lot harder, don’t be surprised cause as we come close to the lord Satan works harder against us. We must be prepared. when we deiced to do things for the lord ( come back to church, accept a calling, go on a mission, whatever it may be) be prepared for what will come because the way will not be easy nor the blessings imitated. We will pass though trail after trail just as the people in Lehi's dream passed though there mist of darkness. that does not mean that the things we have started to do is wrong it does not mean we need to stop it means we must have faith fight harder pray harder and work even harder for the lord if we do that we can pass though these trials. 

I hope we can all work a bit harder drop our shoulder a bit lower and if we do I promise we will a be more happy more able and a lot closer to our lord and savior. NEW CHANGE NEW LIFE

¡Hola! Well actually this week not alot changed this week. Things kinda have stayed the same. The change ended but I’m with my comp for another change. This week I have a lot of experience that I would love to share. First off, with Octavio, so this week we went to visit him at his house and when we got there, his wife lead us out to the balcony where he was seated. We began to talk and he began to open up to me and tell me everything all of his worries, all of his fears, and all of the pains of having left his mom to live here in the city. About his desires to be a good father and how he feels so lost in doing it. I shared with him the experiences of my life, the things I know the prophets have said in our days all that I could to help him. I felt such a strong bind form between us. I feel and developed a strong love for him and his family. This was Friday and Saturday was the call for changes. As we walked away that Friday night, I felt a confirmation in my heart that if I stay here in this sector I stay for him. I stay cause the lord has a work for me to do with him. This is actually only the second time that I have felt that in all my mission. The other time was when I was in Los Robles almost a year ago now. I love that man and his family. 

Sadly this week Hermano amigo had a fall back into alcohol. We went to visit him a few times this week and he was drunk, so we have sadly taken a few steps back with him. His wife still wants to progress, but her progress is severely halted by him when he is drunk. The good thing is that he knows it’s wrong. He just doesn’t just have the will power to let it go yet. 

Everyone else is kinda the same today we had the chance to go to the temple it was super amazing. Every time I go to the house of the lord I come out feeling strong and more able to do the work. I hope you all take advantage of the temple and I hope you are all preparing for general conference that is coming up. I’m super excited for it.

SHORT ON TIME

¡Hola! Well I’m a bit short on time this week again so this week’s blog post might be bit short. This week has been a normal week. Manuel is progressing well, we watched with him the video of the first lesson and he felt the spirit strong and is reading the book of Mormon thinking in baptism. Amigo is doing good- his wife is progressing a bit faster. Amigos big problem is with alcohol and smoking. It’s hard for him to fight it but he is doing his best to try. Also with week we found another Manuel but this Manuel lives in the streets he was thrown out of his house about 5 months ago. He was very receptive and very open to learn more about Jesus Christ. He is on his way out of the street and is really looking forward to learning more about the ``Mormon`` cause he had heard many thing about us but none of it seemed true when he talked with us. We are excited for that.

 

One experience that was super special for me this week was during division with another elder. We were in his sector and we where teaching a less active member and her active husband. The lesson was about testimony and we showed her the video a man without eloquence about the conversion of Brigham young. Well as the lesson went on, the wife began to share her doubts that she had about polygamy. We begin by trying to explain the why and stuff, but she wouldn’t listen and was completely closed off and all. Then my comp at the time asked if she had a testimony that the Book of Mormon was true and that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. She said she didn’t have it. Me and my comp then bore testimony from the bottom of our hearts that it was true. As I bore my testimony, I felt the spirit come over me and confirm to me that truly the Book of Mormon is the word of God, that truly Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. I will never forget that moment. Once again the lord has shown me that what I preach and know is the truth. I hope you all can seek that same confirmation by sharing your testimony about the book of Mormon and the prophet Joseph Smith.

ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST

¡Hola! I don’t know what it is but every time I sit down to write this I cannot remember what I did this week. I will start with some of our investigators. First off Familia Amigo they came to church these last two Sundays and have loved it. They recieved the warmest welcomes in church. it was super good for Hermana Amigo cause she is not a very social person but when she walks into relief society she is instantly surrounded by friends and she has felt there love in church and it is having a very positive effect on her. The Hermano Amigo is also doing well. We are hoping he begins to make more friends in elder’s quorum. Eric and now is cousin is listening to the lesions. They are super good Eric`s cousin Manuel is a super good guy he is really interested in the gospel and in getting a answer. They sadly haven’t come to church yet. Octavo and Katy are doing well. They struggle with a lot of stuff that the church frowns on so there is some work to do with them but Octavo says his goal is to one day enter into the temple and be sealed so we are working with that goal. 

The week has been really normal February is finally ending so things should start picking up again soon. I’m excited for that it’s going to be great. Till then, we keep contacting and contacting and contacting till the day is done. Well I feel like I should have more to write but really nothing is coming to mind right now so I hope you all have a great week sorry the blog is so short but nothing else is really coming to mind.
