A GUIDED WEEK

¡Hola! How is every one? It’s starting to get really hot down here and we a bracing up for a good long summer.

This week has been an interesting week first of for Margarita she has asked us to change her baptism date to the 14th of December so that her daughter can come to the baptism. We were fine with that anyways. It’s been amazing this week to see her and her daughter’s preparedness to receive the gospel. These last few days we have been teaching the commandments (things like word of wisdom day of rest tithing, ect.) and with each one we teach there comes a immediate acceptance. For example we went to teach the word of wisdom to them and we thought that Belen was going to have a problem because she smokes 1 cigarette everyday and told us a few weeks ago that cannot go without it. When we came to teach the word of wisdom we found out that she had 2 weeks before quit smoking and had no desires to go back. It was amazing truly the lord is preparing the way for them so that they might receive this gospel.

Then this week has been an amazing growth week for me. Truly it would be impossible to count all that I have learned and how much I have grown this week. Me and my comp have been having problems lately. It can be hard at times but what I have found is that truly we can find rest and peace in the lord. I know sometimes we can be lead to ask or wonder ´´lord how many more cheeks do I have to turn?´´ ´´ I have turned my cheek so many times just to get smacked again for how long?´´ I know I have asked that this week. Though the power of the spirit I have felt the lord extended my ability to turn the cheek one more time to keep your cool and not blow your top.

Many times we reach disagreements in our life’s we bump heads with the people around us. I have been bumping heads this week. But if we will just ask the lord will tell us which battles are worth fighting and which we should just let go. We need be humble enough to accept the lords counsel when he tells us to stand down and be brave enough to purse something when the lord tells us to.
When it comes time to fight a battle it must be done with the spirit because to do it any other way is to lose the battle. When the times comes even if the other person raises there voice never need we raise ours. If we feel they are attacking us personally we must never attack back. We must act as the savior did explain with love why we acted as we did why we think as we do.  If we follow the spirit the lord will bless us with peace a peace that defies logic. I know cause I felt it I know that it is real. If we will follow where the lord leads us he will make sure that everything will work out just right.

I hope you have a great week and that you all will seek the guiding hand of the lord this week.

WEEK ROUND TWO

¡Hola! How is everyone? I hope you are all doing well. This week has been in interesting week here in the sector we had Belen this week tell us that she wants to wait to do her baptism untill her husband (who is a inactive member) starting joining back in with her. We understood. I would love to see that maybe she is the pulling force that brings him back to church. Margarita is super excited to go and get baptized. She is really looking forward to it. Right now there is nothing stopping her- we just have to have time to teach everything. That is our biggest problem and for me it’s an okay problem to have. We have seen a lot of blessing this week the lord showing to us that the sector is not dead that there are still a lot of people here we just have to go and find them. A lot of good contacts have happened.

This week I have learned a lot about the spirit and the guidance it can give us. So me and my comp have not been getting along very well. But this week, I have felt so much the spirit guiding me helping know what to do. The peace that the spirit gives us is something amazing. If we will do gods will, he will send us peace. This week I felt it as I was trying to figure out how to fix a problem with my comp. I felt the spirit guide my actions and my words. Even if it maybe didn’t turn out perfec, I felt the spirit’s calming hand. Knowing that I had done what the lord wanted us to do.

I want you all to know that nothing is by chance in our lives. The lord has put us where we are because he trusts us. He trusts that we will seek his guidance.  He trusts that we will do his will in where we are put. It’s amazing to know that for me this week that knowledge has changed me to know that he has trusted me with such a great responsibility and to know that I don’t know how to do it. Then at the same time to feel his guiding hand helping make it though and do all I need to do is do his will and he does the rest.

Follow the spirit of the lord brothers and sisters and he will guide you in all you do and in all you say. That I know is oh so true.

THINGS ARE HEATING UP

It was super hot this week it would seem that we have just jumped right over spring and gone in to summer here it’s about 30 C here ( I have no idea what that is in normal anymore) but it is heating up a lot. Also the sector has been heating up we had a great week this week.

Me and my comp are still in the process of getting to know each other it’s had its up and downs but it seems like we are making progress.
This week we had amazing progress with our investigators Margarita and Belen. This week Magarita came down from la Florida (other part of the city) with the whole family that has been supporting her from over there. She loved the chapel and the members accepted her super well. Then the next day we went to teach her and had an amazing lesion. As a matter of fact when we came in Belen said ``Hey I’m sorry I didn’t come to church today can I still get baptized?`` They also read that same day what we had left them to read in the book of Mormon. it was so awesome they are so willing to get baptized its amazing to see the miracles that one family can have in the life’s of another conversion comes so much faster with members help.

Margarita and Belen make the whole week worth in with all the ups and downs sometimes it seems hard in the sector like no one what’s to listen no one wants to accept but in truth they are there are there for us to find them.

Today I also had the chance to go to the temple. It’s been a good four months since the last time I went and wow what a blessing it is. Entering in to the temple just helped leave all the troubles behind and the door and within that wall I could find the clarity of mind to work out problems and feel peace. It is amazing the blessings we have there in the hands waiting for us with the temple. Everyone should go to the temple go whenever you can as much as you can there is great peace to be found much love to be felt I know that this is the true church of God and that he has prepared many a great thing for us.

I hope you all have a good week.

NEW COMP NEW CHANGE NEW WAY

¡Hola! so this week changes came and my comp once again was sent away so I am with my new comp now his name is Elder Macedo He is a great guy he comes from Peru from some city that I have forgotten the name of. He has 8 months on the mission and seems like a great guy. I’m still working on getting to know him. I have been with gringos for 6 months now so now I have the change to refine my Spanish. It’s not easy but it’s going good. It’s different walking the same streets but with a new comp. over 4 and a half months you get used to your comp a bit. My comp was able to say goodbye to everyone and now we are looking forward to a lot of progress.
just yesterday we were going to contact a future that we had spoken to once or twice but never gotten in. we went by today and her boyfriend answered and said he was busy outback and couldn´t let us in we offered our help (as always) and to our surprise he said yes and let us in.
It was fun we moved a bunch of stuff founds some rats helped him clean up and then where able to teach the first lesson to him and his girlfriend it was great it was a super spiritual lesson and they were very open to listen because of the help we had just given him.

Jonny and Margarita up till now have not progressed it’s been a bit difficult to visit with them we are hoping to meet with margarita today and put a baptismal date for her for the 29th of November. We are super excited for them.

Other than that everything has been good her in the sector I’m excited for this week that is beginning I know it’s going to be a good one I hope you all have a great week and that everyone is doing well.

¡Hola!

¡Hola! Otra semana ya ha pasado y que rĂ¡pido que se pasan. This week we had a lot of progress in some people. First off is Margarita and her daughter (whose name escapes me in this moment) we had another lesson with them just yesterday and we taught about Joseph Smith and the restoration and at the end gave the baptismal invite (the mom accepted last time and again this time). This time the daughter accepted too, saying that no other church that she has visited, and she has visited many, has called her attencion like this one. She says there is something different about this one. We testified that it’s because this is the true church of Jesus Christ and that all we teach is true. She is excited to read the Book of Mormon and find out more about this church.
Jonny sadly this week told us that he does not feel ready to fully accept baptism, we explained to him that that is normal. Of course he doesn’t feel ready if he has not even read the book of Mormon. We had a member with us named Hermano Dax and he explained and bore a powerful testimony about the book of Mormon and the power it has. We are trusting in the power of the Book of Mormon that it will change his thoughts and his heart.

Also this week we had the miracle opportunity to visit with Jessica She is a, what we call, Eternal investigator. It’s always been really hard to meet with her cause her husband works a lot. the husband’s name is Valsk he knows the book of Mormon is true and that the church is true but is not baptized cause of his wife. So this week we got a chance to go with a member (Hermano Juan) and he helped us. Jessica explained to us about the death of her father and how that made her kind of rebellious against religions Hermano Juan then shared with her about the death of his mom and his 2 children who died after birth. The spirit was so strong it was amazing and we could see that is was touching her. Juan invited her to think and pray about baptism for her and her family she accepted and we believe will follow though. She knows very well what she needs to do, just lacks just the little push to move forward. I think Hermano Juan gave the push that two missionaries could never do.

I feel like the lord has blessed us so much this week truly he is in this work guiding us helping us find the people exactly when they need us. I feel his spirit so strong and I hear a member or my companion bear testimony I feel my testimony get strong. I know without doubt that this is the true church. The church that Christ himself established on the earth. and that the blessings of said church are available for everyone.
I hope you all have a great week
