2 WEEKS WORTH

Well sounds like some fire got shot up cause I didn’t write last week. Do forgive me it, was not just a few this last week it was everyone. We just didn’t get a chance to write. So I will try to cover the 2 weeks here in this one

Well, most important, we went to the temple with Pamela and her family. They all loved it. Even Christopher came with us and he loved it. he was hanging out with the bishop and loving it. They are progressing so well. Valentina passed her baptism interview so she is going to be baptized this Saturday (5th of July). It’s so awesome and better yet, she asked me to do it. It hit me so hard while we were out with them at the temple how much I love them. I would give my life for this family, I would. I feel as though it is for them that I was sent to this sector. There is something, somehow, the lord used me to help them find him. So Pamela is now active and her daughter will be baptized. It’s a amazing the love that one can develop doing this work. This family has forever won a part in my heart that is just for them. The whole area is now my second home, but it always happens as a missionary. Right when you get to love a place with all your heart......... changes.

I got switched out of my sector and I got a new comp. Now I am with Elder Chance from Florida and we are in San Martin. I love my new comp. We knew each other before we got put together.  I was there when he started his mission. He also served in my first sector after I left. He is super great super nice. I can’t wait to get to know him and this new sector and just keep working.

We also celebrated the birthday of the mission. It was a spiritually amazing. I loved it. We talked about the need some times to take a break and look back at how far we have come. But the need then uses that to find the vision of where we are going. That is something we all need to do. To take a bit of time and look how far we have come then take time pray and look for the vision of where we can go. The lord has great things planned for each one of us. I know it. The lord keeps us where he needs us only for how long he needs us. Then he moves us to where we are next needed. I know that it is true I know the church is true and I know with all my heart the lord never gives up on us as long as we keep trying him keeps trying for us.

¡CUPA MUNDIAL!

Well, it started.  The biggest thing in Latin America- the world cup!  And it is ever great in Chile. Chile’s team got into the world cup this year and the whole country is going crazy about it. Last Friday there was a game (contra Australia), Chile won and for the next 4 hours there where people honking horns, and yelling in the streets, fireworks and everything. It really is something fantastic to see. While it’s amazing for the country, it does make a bit harder the missionary work in this area. I can’t even imagine how it is over in Brazil. But with all the difficulties we actually had a great week.

To start off, we got to meet with Pamela Cordero and her family again. It is super great. The daughter, Valentina, is preparing to be baptized on the 5th of July. She is super excited and also has read up until Alma 4. Thus passing me by an entire book. She loves the Book of Mormon and the whole family too. Pamela herself is doing good. She is struggling a bit with her oldest son Christopher, who is a bit of a rebel child. We are all praying for him and the bishop is doing his best to help them out. She has such great support from the ward. One of her fears coming back to church was that the people would look down on her, but they have all been amazingly supportive. The family is so amazing. I know Christopher will come around.

Sadly this week we have not been able to meet with some of our best people Raymond is still MIA after 4 weeks. We are really wondering what happened. We also sadly were not able to work with Carlos this week either. We are hoping to have contact with them this coming week.

So me and my comp are doing a big push with family history we are hope that we can inspire the ward to set up a temple day with family names to take to the temple. It has been a good response so far. Family history is such a great work. The more I learn about it here, the more I wish I had participated more in it before the mission. Everyone should get involved with it. There are two great works in this world today. Well really it’s one work missionary work, but on both sides of the veil. There are missionaries who go for two years and serve away from their homes,  but they are not alone. We need missionaries in the house that will look for names find people and take them to the temple. The ordinance of baptism needs to be offered to all the living and the dead. My invitation for all of you is to take some time and look for some names. They are there I promise. I know the lord will bless us as we look.

Para finalizar me gustaría decir a todos los padres feliz día gracias por todo que hacen para nosotros sus hijos.

A SEATTLE LIKE WEEKEND

¿por que? por que hay lluvia bastante lluvia!
I’m not sure if the word lluvia is spelt right I hope it is. This week was a wet weekend about 3 days of straight rain and I was a happy missionary but not just cause of rain but because we had some great progress with our investigators this week.

First I have got to tell you about Carlos. So we have a list of all the members in the area and we had passed by a house once with a girl that is called Carla. She seemed super nice and receptive and one day we found the husband, Carlos, working on his car outside so we talk to him a bit and he seems a bit cold at us. So later on (3-4 weeks later) we set an appointment to come and teach them two of them. We go by and visit and it’s just Carlos there. He is so receptive he listened. He made comments and had such a desire to learn more. So we teach him lesson one then set another appointment to come back later and meet with him and his wife together. So we come back the next week and just he is there and turns out his wife (the less active) got upset at him for talking to us and wouldn´t even talk to him if he brought it up. She even took and hid or threw away the pamphlet we gave him. But he still wants to learn more about the gospel he asked us to please keep teaching. Then in the closing prayer he asked heavenly father to soften the heart of his wife so that she will listen and accept again the gospel. And he is not even a member! How cool is that! I love that guy.

Pamela is progressing really well. Her daughter is also doing amazing. We gave her a book of Mormon about 3 or 4 weeks ago and she is now in 2 Nephi 24.  She is doing so good and the whole family has fallen in love with the Book of Mormon. Pamela is meeting with the bishop more and the whole family is ready to make the temple there goal.

Sadly though, we didn’t get to meet with Ramón for about the last 2 weeks. We have lost contact with him and we have no idea why.  So we are seeking and praying hard for him. We have found a lot of new people this week. One is family of less active members with about 4 generations living in the house, which is amazing. We are seeing a lot of people and progress we are looking forward to another good week this week. Even as the Chileans have been praying for rain and the lord open the heavens, his did it with us answered our prayers and has open up doors to us.

I hope you all have a great week and that you all can see the lords hand in your lives I promise that it is there for us ready to help.

A WEEK OF PROGRESS

So I think overall this week has been a good week of progress. I love every day and the different challenges they bring.
Well, for the general this week, we got to meet with Pamela and her family and we talked about the temple and the importance of it and it was super great the spirit was strong and all felt the desire to enter in someday. Valentina had the opportunity to go and visit the temple (sadly they spent to long doing her hair and missed the bus) Valentina was so sad about it. But we have another chance to go on the 24th and the whole family is excited to go.
Sadly this week we did not have the chance to visit with Raymond. His work has got him super busy and we have had troubles contacting him. But we are with faith that there will be a way.
This week also José and Ilda came to church with us and it was so great. They are an evangelical couple but are super open that this could be the true church. They said that they need to have an answer from heavenly father to change and they fully believe it will come. AND IT WILL
Karina and her family is doing really well. We are just waiting for some family problems too cool down and all should go well. Karina told us that she is still waiting for her chispa (spark) to know that these things are true.
Over all, things have been great me and my comp are finding a lot of new people especially less active or inactive members and finding out a lot of good stuff. I love this work I love the opportunity I have to be here I know more than anything it is a privilege to be here serving. I hope to do my best for my Savior and I hope all of you try to do the same.
disfrutan sus semana (I think that right)
