TWO YEARS MUCH TWO FAST

Hola! well this week has been a very wet week it’s been raining just about every day since last Wednesday. sometimes off and on, sometimes very hard rain, but it’s been great. The air has been cleaner and we have had some beautiful views of the mountains. It’s been an amazing answer to many prayers here in Chile. Well this week has been a good week we actually found some new investigators this week which just goes to show no matter how many times you get rejected there is always someone to open the door. Also, this week, we learned that president cook will be closing our sector when we go. we feel okay with that cause right now there are 4 missionaries in the sector and really is not have enough people for 4 so it will be reduced to 2. so we have been doing a lot of splits with the other elders so they can get to know our people.
As the title says, it’s been a very fast 2 years. I’m now in my last week of the mission and this will be my last blog post. I have loved the work I have loved being a missionary there truly is no greater work in this world than that of missionary work. this has been time that will mark my life forever the people I have met and the things I have learned. most of all the greatest thing has been how I have come to know my savior Jesus Christ I know truly he died for all of us that he lives and watches over all of us. I have felt his presence and have felt his love seen his hand and his miracles in my life I know all I am is thanks to the fact that he is. I love him and this church I know it is true.
I know the mission does not end when the name tag comes off I know the lord has other works and duties planned for me. I’m excited to come back and work shoulder to shoulder with all of you. my time in this part of the vineyard has come to an end but I’m very excited to keep working with all of you.
thank you all so much for all that you do all you have done and all you will do lets all work together to keep the lords work moving forward ever forward.
les quiero les amo Jesus es el salvador de todos. le amo y se que el ama a mi

RIGHT PLACE RIGHT TIME

¡Hola! Well this week was an amazing week. The first thing I want to talk about is what happened last Wednesday night. Me and my comp had a crazy experience. So Wendnesday night our cita had fallen as they often do, so we decided to go visit our less active named Octavio. He is a super cool guy. We go by his house and knock and knock and no one answers then as we walk away my comp tells me to call them. We call and Octavio’s little daughter answered and said ´´Elders can you come to my house, my dad passed out. So we run back. Carolina (the daughter), lets us in and there is Octavio on the ground having trouble breathing. We try talking to him but he doesn’t answer.  We could tell he was breathing but nothing else. So we call the ambulance and as we do, he begins to shake on the ground like he was having a seizure. We tried to keep his head from hitting anything. He then calmed down and was knocked out, just breathing and heartbeat. My comp stayed with him and I ran down stairs to get his wife. Then we waited for the ambulance, which was the most painstaking hour and a half wait of my life. That’s right AN HOUR AND A HALF for the ambulance to come and Octavio lives literally 5 block from the hospital. Well after a few calls, trying to guide the ambulance here they come but by then Octavio was better he was sitting up and it okay. They talked it over with the medics and they said it was probably caused by stress. and they left. truly the lord had put us in the right place at the right time. if we weren’t there I think that would have turned out a whole lot worse. the spirit works in small ways just a whisper. ´´hey call him´´ to my comp made all the difference
It’s amazing the things the lord will have us do if we listen to his spirit. that was the most shocking thing of the week. we also had a chance to help out Octavio later on paint his walls in his house.

Sadly Hermano Amigo is still drunk, we haven’t found him sober yet in 2 weeks but we are praying for him. his wife Eliza is as strong as ever. we continue in the search for new people we have found some great ones. Walter ( I don’t know if I talked about him last week) he is really progressing he was someone who wanted nothing to do with churches but on Saturday when we passed by he was excited and ready to keep learning. I think great things are going to come from him. it’s been great not exactly and easy week but when things are hard they become so much more meaningful I hope you all have a great week and keep on keeping on.

A WEEK WITH MANY BLESSINGS

¡Hola! this week was an amazing week for us. this week the lord blessed us that we could find and begin to teach 3 new people. the first one was Sara. I talked about her last week and how we found her. well on Thursday we got to meet with her and we talked about the families. she has got a small family just her and her two daughters. they live with some extended family but each one kind of just watches out for themselves. she loves her family and worries a lot about them we focused a lot on how the gospel can bless our families how it can help us she is great. she sadly didn’t come to church cause she had to travel this week but she told us next week she would come with us.
Other one was a man named Rudy. we had talked with him last week just through his door and had given him a pamphlet. on Thursday we were out contacting and nothing was really working. a lot of closed doors and rejections well we sat down in a park for a second to think about what do… do as we look over our list of future investigators Rudy came to my mind. so we went over and to our surprise he let us in and even more when we got in we meet his dad who lives in another part of the sector who we had contacted and though he never let us in we had a good relation. we talked with him and his son. The dad still wasn`t interested but the son Rudy was interested it was great he has been study a lot about all of the religions and has some weird ideas but like what we taught.
Also the third one was a man named Walter. he is a nice guy we contacted him as he was getting home from work and he said he was too busy right then and told us to come back on Saturday. We came back and began to talk with him a bit get to know him and he said he had no interest in talking about things about religions but he wanted to get to know us as persons. well we chat for a bit then we ask a simple question. what do you think about prophets? and from that we were able to teach the whole first lesson and he even said the prayer at the end and asked that he may be shown the true church.
truly the lord has blessed us this week it’s great to find new people and we are hoping they progress and can take the important steps towards baptism. it’s been a good week hard but with many blessings.
I hope you have a good week it’s been great down here.

CONTACTS THEY STILL WORK

¡Hola! This week was a good week. Well this week has been a bit of a harder one cause it just happens to be that all of our investigators (basically all of them) where super busy this week so we ended up doing a lot of contacts. I don’t know if I have told you but in the first two changes in the sector with my comp we knocked all of the doors in the sector 3 times well as this new change started we decided to just start like we where news and contact it all again any way. We begin doing it and it seemed like such a pointless endeavor from an outside view almost the whole sector knows us personally and us them but we started anyway and to our surprise we have found people. The lord works in mysterious ways truly there is always someone to find someone to talk to something to do. we found one woman who was super receptive we began to talk and the fence with her( her name is Sara) she has 2 daughters and was really interested she even invited us in we were excited but found out that at that moment there was not a man in the house. So we couldn’t go in but we set a appointment to come back on Friday when he uncle will be home from work. it was amazing to see that even if we have contacted that same house 3-4 times before it was this time we needed to be there it was this moment to find her. We are hoping for a good lesson with her on Friday and some great progress here soon.

Eliza is doing super good but sadly her husband is not progressing. It’s so sad to see someone so close to making the big changes not be able to progress cause of his own pride and unwillingness to recognize his problem. We are praying for him it’s about all we can do now that and strengthen his wife. She has received such great love from the sisters in the ward it’s been great.
all and all a good week I had the opportunity to go to the temple today and it was so refreshing to go in again and feel that peace and that recharge I’m ready to go and keep going and I hope you can do it to go and change someone’s life today.

RAINY DAYS RAINY DAYS

¡Hola! This week was a great week. This week heavenly father answered Chile's prayers for rain and set rain our way. We had a weekend full of rain. It was muchly needed cause Santiago is kind of in a bowl of mountains and the smog had been building up so much it was almost dangerous to breath but thanks to the rain we got a few days of clean air it was great. It’s amazing how a bit of attitude and hard work can change perspectives. on Sunday was the hardest day of rain. And it happen to be that day that no one wanted to open there doors so we went from place to place contacting talking to our investigators and we got rejected all day. To our surprise though we did not feel sadness at being out in the rain it was actually fun we enjoyed our time. Now when we finally got a chance to get inside a house we took it but truly our situation does not determine our attitude it is completely in our control. It was great.
Sadly as for progress with the people we are teaching it has been hard to meet with them they haven’t been home or haven’t had time. We keep looking and keep working.
Though the hard times I have learn a lot of great truths one of the greatest has been the reality of god how much he loves us. Truly he is our heavenly father as we pray to him he listens we can talk to him and he will talk to us. Even if we feel unworthy and unable he is still there ready to listen and ready to help us become more. I love my father in heaven I know I am in his work I know this is the church of Jesus Christ I do. I love this work and I’m happy though the sunny days and the rainy days cause even if it is raining I know the sun is back there behind those clouds.
have a great week

A GOOD WEEK

¡Hola! well this week was a really full and interesting week. The most interesting day was Saturday. This Saturday was the baptism of Eliza Vaskes who is the wife of Hermano amigo. In this moment it was just the baptism of the Hermana Eliza cause her husband is not quite ready yet. (he continues to struggle with drinking) The baptism was very spiritual I was worried at first cause after inviting and reminding all of the ward to come there was not many people there at the baptism. Luckily the people she had chosen to give talks came well prepared and the spirit filled the room as the speakers gave their talks and the spirit filled all of the empty seats in the room. We all knew that our father in heaven was happy for her decision to get baptized. I had the honor to do the baptism it was a great experience. We had worried about her back problems and how she would be able to go down but as we did it there was no sign of pain on her face just peace and joy it was amazing. The next day was a fast and testimony meeting she came got confirmed and then (her husband told us later) as they were walking home together from the sacrament meeting they were talking about the baptism and everything that had happened. she said to her husband ``its true its true it’s all true`` amazing changes have happened in her and it’s been amazing to watch the spirit take its effect in her.

Then that night was the Chile game in the copa america. Chile won and when they did there were fireworks all over the stadium and the town it was great. Why cause it just happen to be the fourth of July which means we got fire works on the fourth of July it was amazing way to end the night.
Things have been going good in the sector we are having problems meeting with some of our investigators but the ones we can get with are doing great one new one is yordany he is a awesome guy he is 19 and just starting out on his own he is not very well educated so the teaching process is a bit slower but he is very receptive we are hoping to be able to report great progress in him soon.
I hope you all have a great week
